About

Hi, I’m Margot! Welcome to my creative world. I started making my own macrame jewelry back in 2020. Around that time I was traveling in Mexico, and seeing the local crafts there ignited my passion for macrame. I have always loved being creative and I have a strong interest in spirituality and nature, so for me macrame is the perfect way to combine these passions. It allows me to work with natural stones and to express my intuitive creativity, making earthly, energetic jewelry.

After a few years of creating and improving my techniques, I opened a shop on etsy. I decided to give it the name Terramani. Terra means earth and mani means jewel or precious stone in Sanskrit. My hope and intention is that wearing my pieces will empower and inspire you to experience the earthly flow of joy, energy, and transformation that I put into my macrame. To accept and to be, and to connect to your inner powerful self.

My work is inspired by nature, spirituality, and traveling. The latter is another great passion of mine. The 9 to 5 mentality is not for me, and you probably will not find me settled long in one place (I’m currently in my home country The Netherlands for some months). As I go along, I collect and discover new stones and get inspiration from the places, people, and cultures I’m fortunate enough to experience. Traveling allows me to explore not only new places, but also myself. It is through traveling that I realized that my life is part of something much bigger, and that nature is indefinitely intricate, magical, and sophisticated. I am grateful and humble for being alive in the here and now, and for being part of the natural cycle of mother earth and beyond.

Most of the time I make my jewelry intuitively, letting my imagination flow and getting inspired by nature’s geometrical shapes. Sometimes I design my pieces more elaborately, drawing out a design before I start creating. As I use natural gemstones, each piece is unique and made with all my love and care. I can sit for hours making macrame. It’s like a meditation, it makes me feel calm and allows me to be in the present moment.

After a piece is finished, I spent a lot of time photographing my jewelry. I really enjoy taking pictures, and like macrame, photography has been a learning process for me, trying to find the best ways to express my artwork and the spirit of Terramani. I love my creative journey, as I’m learning and growing, changing and transforming. I’m always eager to do everything myself. Drawing is another hobby of mine, and I had the great joy of designing my own logo.

Now my online shop Terramani Arts is up and running, and I am enormously grateful for the opportunity to express myself and share my macrame art with all of you beautiful people. Thank you for your support, it means a great deal to me. I’m so happy that people are loving my macrame jewelry and I’m excited to see where Terramani Arts will take me in the coming years. Thank you for being here, and enjoy browsing ♥︎

Much love,

Margot
